EQUAL ACCESS PROJECT
ALL COURSES REGISTERING NOW FOR FUTURE DATESWe organise a variety of health and leisure activities for the diverse community of Earl’s Court and surrounding area. In line with the ethos of the Equal Access Project, all of our activities are open to everyone, although some will inevitably tend towards particular client groups. We are always open to suggestions and encourage our users to take an active role in planning and developing new projects. V&A Workshop - Click here for informationRecent projects have included: An equal access art project entitled ‘Voice to All’, which attracted artists with a range of abilities to participate in a series of workshops led by two renowned artists, producing work around the theme of the individual in the community for display during the Earl’s Court Festival 2005.
Regular disco dances for older residents of Earl’s Court and surrounding area, featuring the legendary DJ Frankie playing old time rock n’ roll and other classics from the 1950s and 1960s. A range of trips out to cultural and musical events for older residents and indeed anyone else in a disabled-accessible minibus. Recent trips have included the London Sinfonietta Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall, traditional tango on the South Bank, an organ recital at Notre Dame de France and a Proms recital at Cadogan Hall. CLASSESINTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERSA course designed for absolute beginners, covering the basics of computer use, including word processing, internet and email. FREE ENGLISH CLASSESWe offer English classes. Drop in to Response for an assessment of your level of English at any time. COMBINED ESOL/ITCovers file management, word processing, spreadsheets, graphs and presentations. Designed for IT.users everywhere whether in employment, education or training. Improve your English and Computer skills. ENGLISH CONVERSATIONCome and practice your spoken English in an informal group of learners. SOCIAL ACTIVITIESSATURDAY SOCIALSDrop in to Response to meet other local residents, with live music, free raiki healing sessions, classic films and all the tea and coffee you can drink! FREE YOGA CLASSESStart the week the right way and find muscles you never knew you had! LINE DANCINGA great chance for older people (50+) to learn a popular fun new way to keep fit. DISCO DANCINGCome and twist, bob and jive to the classic rock and roll music of the 1950s and 60s, played by the legendary DJ Frankie. EVENING TRIPS OUTWe are happy to arrange trips out for local residents to concerts, theatres, art galleries etc in a disabled-accessible minibus, door to door service provided.
