3RD MAY
• Joshua the Germinator carefully put the orange seedlings into small pots.
• Connor, Alban, Salwa, Ala’a, Sarah M, Lea, Ali O, Andy, Ashley, Solomon, Christine, Iryna & Daska made their first visit to Brompton Cemetery with Nick Lane.

First, Andy took a group photo beside the forget-me-nots and lots of other photos later on. Nick talked to us about the lime tree avenue, Emmeline Pankhurst & squirrels. We saw a squirrel drey (nest). Then we visited our site.

He explained the orientation (N, S, E & W). Next we saw the gateway to the catacombs. He gave us flower boxes to tick and magnifying glasses. We saw: bramble bushes, bluebells, lesser celandines, garlic mustard, a rowan tree and a conker tree. It was hot (22 degrees) and sunny and there were ladybirds and lots of hover flies. We meant to take the soil temperature but we forgot.

11/12TH MAY
• 3 terraces were created beside the South facing wall.
A robin kept perching on the spade handle. He flew off with 2 centipedes and a caterpillar in his beak.

15TH MAY
• Sara, Mohamad & their dad planted sunflower seeds in the top 2 terraces. The robin visited them.
• Christine & Iryna planted ecobooty (lesser celandines, bluebells, wild arum lilies & violets) in the middle terrace.
• The begonia leaf had gone mouldy and we had to throw it away. We had another try with 2 fresh leaves.
• Ashley planted nasturtium seeds in peat pots.

23rd MAY
Wild strawberries, stonecrop, campanulas & love-in-the-mist, all presents from Iryna, were planted in the terrace. No sign of sunflower seedlings - perhaps we planted them too deep?
